Engine Seals
« on: May 27, 2016, 11:46:28 pm »
Brand new to Legends this year, and this site has been AWESOME for me! A BIG thanks to all of you who take the time to inform!
I have a 1250 sealed. Could someone please explain how to read the Engine seals  Colors and numbers? There are only two correct? One in front and one on the passenger side of the motor ? Thanks!

There are only two seals as you stated, one on front of  engine sealing cylinder head to cylinder barrels, and one next to starter below carbs sealing cylinder barrels to engine block. Older seals are barrel shaped and silver or green in color with slack in wire rope while new seals are square in shape, red, orange, or purple in color with no slack in wire rope. If you have older seals, you can ship engine to USLC to have new seals installed. Hope this helps!

Thanks! That does help. Will the numbers on the seals tell me anything or do I need to call 600 and they can tell me what has been done to the motor?
