Blacksracing has a great gear chart, appreciate all the work they have done.
Does anyone have one with the 2.93 numbers?
Mph in each gear at 8,500 and 10,500.
Setting this one up for road racing and the 3.42 is just to short.   I am very confident that the 2.93 is the way to go compared to a 2.50.
I would just like the mph data for it.

Any other recomendations for a newbie to legends, been lurking around this site for about a month now.   Ton of data on this site.

Thanks

I don't have the final MPH numbers, but the 2.92 in 5th and the 2.50 in 4th have the same final drive numbers. I personally run the 2.50 as it has better top end speed and I can let the car pull longer, but the 2.92 helps get it out of the corner.

I have been roadracing for almost 15 years and I can tell you the majority of racers run the 2.92, but there are many of us that us the 2.50 and are able to keep the corner speed up and the top end speed is better.

With that said both gears take the car to basically its terminal velocity as the areodynamics just won't let the engine push the car any faster, one just gets there faster than the other.

Thanks, so how about another?
So the inex rules, which I have to run for SCCA/NASA say no LSD........Spooled?   Seems really bad for road race........HuhHuh
What are you guys running?
How bad is it going to be?
I have always had a nice LSD setup for the road race stuff, this could be a challenge.

ANY ADVISE IS APPRECIATED, getting ready to spend some cash. 2.92 bound!!!

Most of the guys are running welded spiders due to spool failure(s). The axle housing flex causes the spool splines to strip and most of my guys cannot get a season out of a spool.

We have 25-30 guys running welded & spooled every race, and nobody seems to have any issues with it.

 Gear:      In:      Final Ratio:

2:93         1st          14.65
                   2nd       10.26
                   3rd          8.06
                   4th          6.63
                   5th          5.72

2:50         1st          12.50
                   2nd          8.75
                   3rd           6.87
                   4th           5.65
                   5th           4.88

I'm working on a complete chart that I will post soon. This info was provided to me by Gimpster.

As Randy pointed out,  "The axle housing flex causes the spool splines to strip and most of my guys cannot get a season out of a spool."
I suppose the rear end housing could be strengthened by a brace, such as used in drag racing, if  SCCA/ NASA would allow you to. I would think that you would have to petition the sanctioning bodies in order to do so. The spool would provide a weight savings; But I have decided to go with the welded gear. Limited slip would be nice, but from what I have read the stock LSD just won't hold up.

Thanks!
Any ideas on who would have a set welded up ready to sell?
or could have them soon.

You could advertise here under parts wanted, Check on DCR, or Check on eBay and Racingjunk.

Been watching all of them, no luck yet.   Was hoping one of the shops kept them in stock.  I will put up a post and see what I can get.

Thanks

You might try  http://peterdmotorsports.com

They seem to have access to a lot of gears.

PeterD shows a 292 for what I think is $250?

Not perticular to them as I have never used them just thought they had a good selection.  There's may also be right out of the car thus may need new bearings/seals and welding?

Mike may have a used one that is not listed. I would just give him a call.

Oops! I missed it.
You are correct. PeterD does list a 2.92 for $250.

PeterD is a good guy to deal with. He has been a supporter on DCR for many years.
A call to him would get the necessary info as to bearings, seals and welding.

I have also heard a lot of good things about Mike over at CMG.
