Recommended Fluids

What type of Brake Fluid, Clutch Fluid, Rear end Fluid and gas do you guys use? We are putting back together our car after our first year. Thanks!

Personally, I use DOT3 brake fluid for brakes and clutch, Amsoil gear lube, and 93 pump gas with Lucas top end lubricant or lead substitute

your brake and clutch fluid are the same.  A good quality DOT 3 is all you need.  The rear gear I run 75w90 and only one quart.  I too am an Amsoil dealer so I use everything Amsoil but you may run what you wish.

On the oil, make sure it is a "motorcycle" oil and not just automotive oil. And yes, a good quality oil is best of course.

We run good race brake fluid, such as wilwood. If you are on asphalt and you run hard standard fluid will not take the heat, brake fade! Rear end fluid, make sure its synthetic, we run red line shockproof lightweight. Lots of heat in these locked gears. Cluth does not matter, you are only pushing the slave in and out. DO NOT RUN CHEAP FLUID, these components were designed for street use, not race applications subject to heat and abuse.

I also am an Amsoil dealer and will only use it.  My question is 10/40 or 20/50 motorcycle oil for the engine.  The Amsoil website said the 20/50 handles high temps better, so I was planning on running that, but I saw on another thread 10/40 is better.  What are your opinions?

I prefer to run 10W40 in mine, but the engine I have in the car now we built a little loose with bearing clearances, so I am running 20W50 in this one
