Lap Timers
« on: May 09, 2017, 09:20:30 pm »
I've been looking at the longacre and intercomp lap timers and was wondering if anyone had any opinions on them. The longacre hotlap gps timer looks like it gives the most information and I like the idea of not having to deal with a beacon, but I could forsee the gps portion/track setup being a bit troublesome - does anyone have any experience with them?

I have the lapceiver ALT with the beacon.  You are thinking right by going GPS.  The beacon system has issues.  The Lapceiver is audible so it calls out lap times as your drive.  That is good for practice sessions.

Most guys seem to be purchasing the MyChron Solo.  They are very happy with it.  Zero issues.  I ran a MyChron in my karting days and it worked great. I would look at that one along with the Longacre and Intercomp.

Let us know what you go with.  I will probably move to a GPS system at some point.
