Asphalt track condtions form day to night.
« on: July 24, 2017, 02:00:35 am »
We have finally got a decent setup and have closed within a few tenths of the fast cars. We are at a point where making good adjustments from day to night really seems to matter.

Do all tracks tighten up as they cool, or is this track specific? The track I ran last night got super loose as the night went on, I felt that was odd.

From my experiences, yes. The heat of the day makes the track slippery. As the sun goes down, the track cools and gets tighter.
Something I was taught years ago was to set up the car in a neutral state for hot laps and qualifying. As the track cools, the car should come to you.
