Still learning these cars and have a question. After about halfway thru the main, my car seems to get really loose and is a complete different car. I start to get loose in the middle and loose coming out. The rear end wants to come around on me. Is there anything I can do to help the car be more consistent thru the main? Do I need to start with a little higher cross weight? %48.5 to start race. Is this normal and I just need to drive it or what can help? What is causing it? Tires???

Not a chassis guru; But I would say to increase the cross weight as a start. Say 51- 52%. ???

Also, make sure rear end housing is not bent and if not bent, rear to be square in car and left side wheel base 1/16" longer than right side. This will make a huge difference if set up correctly. Increasing cross will help, but you will still be wrestling with the car if rear end is out of whack.

Thanks for the help. I do know the rear end is not bent and I do have it square and wheelbase is correct. Think I am going to up the cross weight %. Thanks again

If you're on asphalt, I'd think that tire temps might help you understand the story as well.

Are you running nitrogen or air?

Do you have a "tight-loose"?? To much wheel input coming out-(pushing) Then it snaps loose as it comes out??

Sorry for the delay and did not see your guys post. I am running air in tires but have talked to other racers and the way to go is nitrogen? As far as how the car handles half way thru the race, it is loose in the middle and wants to bring the rear around.

Nitrogen is expensive and not everyone has some just sitting around in the garage. Most racers just use air in their tires. I think you will be just fine doing the same. Have you raised the cross weight in the car yet and tested? Wondering the result?

Your car will get looser during a run. Tire Pressures come up which increases rear spring rate a tad plus your burning gas so loosing rear weight. A gallon of gas is about .5% of the car. If you can feel .25 of Cross, I'm sure you feel .5% of rear weight.
These cars run very loose to be fast. The winner is usually sideways off the corner for the second half off the race.
I think Freddy is on track, check your tire temps and wheel input. I know you run a lot more cross then I do so I would be looking into that tight/loose condition. Right as your on the gas to set the car off the corner the thing will snap loose.
IMO, a loose off race car is a more gradual feeling. But when your tight / loose, it just wants to snap around on you.
